Temple Habonim "The Wisdom's Literature"

via Zoom

Posted
We will study the texts found in the Writings, the 3rd and final section of the Hebrew Bible. Often referred to as "the Wisdom Literature," these provocative texts offer philosophical and literary perspectives on the major themes of Judaism: our relationship with God and the meaning and purpose of our lives.

The class will examine the books of Ecclesiastes, Esther, the Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, and Job. This class, like our Thursday Lunch and Learn, will be ongoing, and participants should feel free to join us when they can. If you wish to participate, it would be extremely helpful to have a copy of the Hebrew Bible (we will study the texts in English, but may refer to the Hebrew for clarification) so that we will be able to see each other more fully over Zoom.

To safeguard the health of our community, The Wisdom's Literature is online only until further notice. Please contact Rabbi Howard or Adina Davies, Temple Habonim's Administrator for details on how to join us!
