RI Interfaith Coalition to Reduce Poverty
10th Annual Vigil at the State House
Working together, we believe that we can improve the lives of all Rhode Islanders and reduce poverty in our state. We have a responsibility to protect and support all Rhode Islanders, whatever our religion, race/ethnicity, immigration status, gender, age or socioeconomic standing. We believe that all Rhode Islanders deserve nutritious food, affordable housing, decent wages, quality education and accessible healthcare.
We will:
* bear witness to our faith traditions' teachings that we are to be a community that cares for all, not just some;
* call on elected officials to govern with care, compassion and wisdom;
* propose specific policies for legislative action in 2016; and
* find -- and offer -- inspiration and encouragement in the struggle for economic justice.

FAQs
What are my parking options? There is limited street and lot parking available near the State House. There is also parking available for a small fee at the Providence Mall parking lot.
What if I am a clergy person interested in participating in the annual reading of names? Contact Victoria (RIinterfaithcoalition@gmail.com or 401-421-4111 ext. 161). Clergy will meet at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church by 2PM for a pre-event program to learn more about our advocacy issues and prepare for the Vigil. We will march together to the State House, arriving a few minutes before 3PM.
