Nature and the Aerodynamics of Drones: What we can learn from nature about flight? Over the last century, we have achieved a lot in the field of aviation. But as we move towards smaller air vehicles, the standard airplane configuration is no longer efficient. In this talk, an Israeli scientist/engineer will discuss the ways nature has found to deal with this issue, and what we can learn from birds and bats to benefit the design of future drones.

Gali Alon Tzezana completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering at the Technion - Israeli Institute of Technology. After four years of work in the Israeli defense industry as an Aerodynamics Engineer, she came to Rhode Island to pursue a Ph.D. in Engineering at Brown University, working on the aerodynamics of bat-inspired wings.
